The idea was to create a new vertical garden entrance to this large inner-city hospital.
Vertical circulation was required in order to navigate the hospital in an efficient and effective manner.
Various design options were considered, we looked at curved escalators and lifts but the overall theme was based around creating a sensitive and inviting space at the front of the building to improve and maximise patient experience.
The market traders and garden areas were incorporated to soften the approach and visitor experience, providing patients with a welcoming, informal and inviting space to move through and spend time within.
