Our clients required a two-storey side extension, the ground floor being a covered car port/storage area with living space above which connects to the main house via an elegant glass link.
The overall design is innovative and contemporary, subtly influenced by the client’s strong interest in Japanese design reflected in the impressive Japanese garden that has been developed to the rear of the property. Although this influence is evident, simple detailing and the soft colour palette was chosen to reduce the visual impact of the structure within the streetscene. The larger mass is visually less intrusive due to extensive screening created by soft planting blending it in to its surroundings.
